The Producer Price Index for final demand increased 0.5 percent in March. Prices for final demand goods advanced 1.6 percent, and the index for final demand services was unchanged. Prices for final demand rose 4.0 percent for the 12 months ended in March.
In March, the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers rose 0.9 percent, seasonally adjusted, and rose 3.3 percent over the last 12 months, not seasonally adjusted. The index for all items less food and energy increased 0.2 percent in March (SA); up 2.6 percent over the year (NSA).

The Producer Price Index for final demand increased 0.7 percent in February. Prices for final demand services moved up 0.5 percent, and the index for final demand goods advanced 1.1 percent. The index for final demand rose 3.4 percent for the 12 months ended in February.
In February, the Consumer Price Index for All Urban Consumers rose 0.3 percent, seasonally adjusted, and rose 2.4 percent over the last 12 months, not seasonally adjusted. The index for all items less food and energy increased 0.2 percent in February (SA); up 2.5 percent over the year (NSA).
Total nonfarm payroll employment edged down by 92,000 in February, and the unemployment rate changed little at 4.4 percent. Employment in health care decreased, reflecting strike activity. Employment in information and federal government continued to trend down.
The Producer Price Index for final demand increased 0.5 percent in January. Prices for final demand services advanced 0.8 percent, and the index for final demand goods declined 0.3 percent. On an unadjusted basis, the index for final demand rose 2.9 percent for the 12 months ended in January.
